Weapon &Equipment Suppliers

For the moment my main emphasis is to list as many potentially useful sites as possible, where my personal knowlege extends far enough I have attempted to include a brief commentary upon the service rendered.

Based on the shores of Lock Ness, Zords is a well established supplier, who has previously specialised in Scottish weapons and equipment, but who is now starting to stock the CAS Iberia and Hanwei ranges, including the practical range and the fabulous renaissance style torso armour.

Zords also offer an extensive selection of European, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Baiwan equipment as well as practice equipment for classical fencing/historic swordfighting.

Very informative descriptions, good pictures and excellent prices on both equipment and shipping, this site will be of interest to both the martial artist and the collector of reproductions.

This is a new supplier specialising in Angus Trim swords and Purpleheart wasters. The site is still very much under construction, but there are links to view the various items and the business is open for mail order.

Possibly the most popular fencing equipment manufacturer in world. This is the UK division of the the German company featured on the Manufacturers page. Very good quality, very good value and a very wide range of equipment including coaches equipment.

Fast attractive website, though the navigation bar at the top of the screen isn't particularly intuitive.

This is a well established American company selling all manner of useful equipment for the dedicated Western Martial Artist, padded jackets, re-inforced gloves, gambesons, gorgets and strips of ballistic foam so you can make it all yourself. In addition a nice selection of wooden wasters. Even has a few suggestions for further reading at the bottom of each page. A very useful resource.

Very fun site, selling very fun foam rubber sabres, available in a variety of colours. Battling is also the sole distributor in the UK for the Hungarian PBT fencing equipment. Good value, nice links, attractive, fast and amusing site.

An English site, with an excellent selection of products including some very reasonably priced swept hilt rapiers with several blade options - schlaeger, double epee, live etc, very good value, quick professional site, many tempting things and a quick response to e-mails. Can't rate this site highly enough.

An American firm with an excellent selection of products, a fast website and some interesting items. Good value and same day order dispatch on credit card orders. Has a selection of shipping options if you want to pay for the reduced time. approx $20. postage on blades/light swords
Triplette have recently expanded their range of rapiers to include two new swept hilts. All available with a choice of 40" schlaeger, 35"schlaeger, 40" double epee, 35" double epee, single epee or foil blades. Guards, pommels, quillons and grips are all available separately, so you can also mix and match to get what you want.

This American site carries a very large selection of weapons, armour and related equipment, and will change the blades on any of their live rapiers for double wide epees or schlaegers, there is a charge and generally the prices are higher for basic items, but the selection is very wide. Fast and attractive site.

Black Rose Creations :More

An American site dedicated to functional hand made hilts based upon genuine historically dated designs, wide selection, good value, medium speed site but many good links.

Unfortunately the Black Rose has closed it's doors to new business for a while, and the website just seems to display a holding page. It may however be worth trying from time to time.

Very nice simple site, selling very nice simple, smallswords, rapiers, broadswords and daggers. Distinct stage combat emphasis, but all weapons are made with steel hilts and hardwood handles and can be fitted with schlaeger, double wide epee, or canelure blades. Prices are very competitive, styles simple yet elegant. Fast efficient website.

This supplier has a very high reputation for quality, value and service. Specialises in rapiers, but also produces a few pieces of armour and some other swords, haven't tried any of their weapons as yet, but intend to very soon. The website has been having a few teething troubles, but the vast majority of it seems to be sorted out now, good pictures available of all the weapons. Also has an interesting News sections.

This is a Czech site, and quite frankly fabulous. It has an English language option, lots and lots of very nice weapons, each with very detailed photographs and an engineering guide so that you can see how the different types of weapons are constructed what size threads they have. The prices seem very good, but are displayed in Czech Koruna (1000 Koruna = £17.70 approx.

According to Sword Forum reviews these swords are very good, and the prices are excellent, even the delivery quality good, though it does seem to take about a month or two on average.

Another Czech site with very nice range of arms and armour. Has a nice range of sparring weapons fitted with epee blades for what seems like a very low price. Good reviews of the workmanship from Swordforum contributors. Ordering as with Lutel can apparently be a bit of a pain as there is an extra charge for credit card orders, otherwise orders need to be sent by post with money orders in Czech currency. On the plus side delivery seems very reliabe, even for polearms!!!, turning up within 4-6 weeks from sending the order.

One of the biggest and best established sport fencing suppliers in the UK and France, excellent range of sport fencing products, very competitive prices, and incredibly efficient service.

Just beginning to stock "SCA" equipment including a new schlaeger blade, parrying dagger etc. Definitely a site to keep an eye on. Very fast and easy to use site.

A well established supplier of own brand and Allstar fencing equipment based in London. Of no relation to TheDuellist whatsoever. Good prices, and a fast attractive site. Duellist also stock Blaise Freres blades. Operates a membership scheme which seems almost too good to be true. £35/ year for some fairly hefty discounts, member price and original price freely available behind the little gold card icon on the front page

Bright Blades: USA :More

Very nice, informative site, with broad range of swords, other weapons and accessories. Unfortunately shipping to the UK will apparently cost at least $100. from this site. Not sure why, but this does make the various items much more expensive than you can get elsewhere. Well worth a look anyway even if you just want to see a good picture of something before looking for it elsewhere.

This is a great site, wide selection of rapiers and smallswords, as well as a unique selection of curved bladed practice weapons, including a radaellian sabre. Some nice hilt designs, very nicely illustrated. Prices start at a very competitive level and new lines are constantly being added to the product range. Fast attractive site.
