New & Forming Societies
The intention of this page is to offer slightly longer listings of new and forming societies, their interests, membership and goals.
If you'd like to form a society or find other people in your area to form a society with, then send me your details along with an outline of your interests, experience, preferred weapons/period of swordplay. It would also be useful if you could outline what you're looking for and what resources you currently have access to.
Schola Gladiatoria: Ealing, London :20/02/2002
The main focus of this group is 15thC Italian martial arts, primarily based on Fiore dei Liberi, but also Filippo Vadi. The focus of this group is heavily influenced by the research work which they are doing on a new translation and interpretation of Fiore from the Fior di Battaglia (Getty version).
Schola Gladiatoria currently practises on different nights during the week, but is soon going to commit to a regular night once a suitable location is found. The society currently comprises 7 members.
2 web sites are currently under construction. One focused on Schola Gladiatoria, the other purely for the new tranlation.
